Purpose in Action 2018-01-13T13:15:06+00:00

Why this Training?

It can be tricky manifesting our dreams and intention as fully as we’d like. Many of us dedicate a lot of time to self-development work, but still feel that the results we experience don’t really reflect the effort we’ve put in. The harsh reality is that no matter how much we learn about ourselves or the world around us, often our effectiveness is determined less by what we know or what we do – but by how we do it.

It’s this ‘how’ that will be the focus of our work together. Always striving to balance the polarities that exist within each us, the aim of this training is to help you to understand what it is you truly wish to achieve; to crystalize your vision within your mind’s eye and then determine how to assert it within the living, breathing world. By engaging in this process you’ll become sharper, faster, more organised and more focused – allowing your potential to manifest itself freely – encountering less resistance.

To achieve this we’ll adopt a semi-structured approach – zooming in on your objectives and providing you with the practical tools to achieve them, whilst affording you the space to process perceived mental blockages in your own time. This program will consist of 8 x 1 hour live sessions spread over 8 weeks, and will include independent work assignments as well as the opportunity to check in and ask me questions between sessions. Everything that you need to fulfil your Purpose in Action!

What Will I Gain?

  • Clarification of your most earnest lifetime objectives – your purpose – and how to achieve it
  • An intrinsic understanding of the emotional blockages and disruptive practices that obstruct your progress – along with the tools needed to dismantle them
  • The identification of a series of 3-5 year motivational visions
  • The determination of a set of 1-2 year personal goals
  • The preparation and structure of a series of 6-12 month personal projects – explicitly designed to progress you towards the achievement of your goals
  • A host of psychological benefits – ridding you of the emotional baggage weighing you down and allowing you to give more energy and greater focus to the things you care about; so that you may seize opportunities and actualise your dreams.
David is really good with what he does.

He has been helping me with my project management system, policies and procedures, determining priorities, training and hiring staff, brainstorming future directions, and has been an excellent sound board.
Highly recommended !

What Will It Cost Me?

£250per month

David is a rare jem! He brings such a down to earth approach to what can seem a daunting tangled mess. He guides gently and steadily to the places I try to hide from myself, and then probes fearlessly until I crack. Still then he’s there to hold and encourage until the illumination inherent in my blind spots come into view.

A course of sessions with David is not an easy ride, but a very fruitful one.
Practically, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience in systems and organisational tools that have helped me to focus on the real work I do, knowing that everything is running smoothly in the background.

Frequently Asked Questions

Must I be available for 8 consecutive weeks? 2017-11-09T16:16:01+00:00

No, you can have gaps between sessions. However, I suggest that you don’t leave it too long, so that we can keep up the momentum.

What experience do you bring to the table? 2018-01-13T13:12:53+00:00

I’m a masters level qualified systems analyst and business manager. I have worked for charities, social enterprises, as a freelancer and in a wide variety of private sector organisations. My experience includes IT, marketing, community building, web design, human resources, administration, facilities management, project management and plenty more besides. I bring to my work a keen interest in minimalism, productivity systems (GTD) and the disciplined mindset of a trained martial artist: effectiveness and efficiency lie at the heart of everything I do.

Is there space for me to follow my intuition? 2018-01-13T13:13:26+00:00

Yes – in fact I’d say it’s essential! The purpose of the structured element of the program is to gain a very clear idea of what you want to achieve – and how to achieve it. You should bring all of your senses to bare on this task – see, hear, feel what it will be like to achieve those goals – your vision.

We then work together to establish working practices that will draw you closer to the people, opportunities and attributes needed to achieve them. You can then put these concerns to one side and let your juiced-up operations do the work for you! You should return to the structured approach from time to time to revise and refine your dreams – but this will become second nature to you as you progress.

Will the structure restrict my creativity? 2018-01-13T13:15:08+00:00

No, the approach I favour is semi-structured. My belief is that a certain degree of structure is required to optimise performance – but it should not be adhered to religiously. At various points in my life I’ve found myself either trying to tough it out, over-plan and push on forwards, or otherwise weighted down by uncertainty as I strived to explore my intuitive mind and deeper motivations.

Each of these mindsets have their value, but in isolation neither really helped me to realise my potential. There is, however, a sweet spot that exists between the two poles that offers both a solid foundation to push off of and the imaginative space to fly – it’s this arena that we’ll be aiming to work within.
